Friday, September 19th MTB

When:Friday, September 19th
Type:Mountain
Time: 5:30
Where: Marsh parking lot of Madonna

Details: I think we will have a few riders from Art's joining us as a few of us are starting to train for the 24 hr. race coming up on November 1st and 2nd. This may be a bit of organized chaos depending who shows up and when. It will be fun to have a bunch of riders on the mountain.
I have heard Scott talk about doing laps around the ring in 17:50. Sounds like a challenge.
I am thinking we may head up to Shooters around 7:30ish as we may have a longer rope on Friday's than mid-week.

Bottomline: Come out to Madonna on Friday morning and have some fun on those fat tires.

Petition for name change

I believe a name change is in order....
Sir Skippy was aptly named in his infant stages of OneSource initiation.
I believe we will all agree he graduated to a much higher level these days.
Besides, we have a new youngster in Tyler "The Future" O'Brien.
This morning being a great example of his growing strength. The guy had all the vets complaining about the pace on the way out to Lopez lake and he pulled us almost the whole way, like a big Clydesdale! Not only that, but he remained strong for the rest of the ride.

So I propose the new name of "Clyde"

Monday and Wednesday Ride Report

On Monday we hooked up with "the Future" who had a terrific ride and is straight up solid.  Give that guy a few more rides and we will all be complaining b/c we won't be gettin any kind of draft off of that stick!  Monday was a bit of a homecoming for the OneSource crew as sorebutt, separatist, swamped and sneaker all came together for a great ride with good spirits and conversation.
Wednesday the OneSource crew was back at it and Wolfeman joined us!  Wolfeman always has some ridiculously difficult challenge on the horizon and I wasn't surprised to find that his next adventure was going to take him and a friend to do some 20+ mile run at the Grand Canyon which was half of their original plan!  Everyone was timely this morning and our contact point with Rabbit at Price Canyon and 227 was brilliantly perfect.  We rolled out to Lopez and made it back into SLO by 730.  It felt great to knock out a ride before 8!

Tyler Goes Down

My sources tell me that our young friend and the future of OneSource Cycling, 13 year old Tyler O'Brien, laid down his new road bike on LOVR on Labor Day. I don't know all the details, but these pics have come my way. A bit of nice roadrash, but he's still smiling. Encourage Tyler when you see him.

All I know is I am not looking forward to my first fall on the road. It's not if, but when. . ..

Weekend Sneakers

We're all fighting to keep it together here at OneSource in these busy days. While some were away for the Labor Day Weekend, I managed to sneak a couple of great road rides.

The first was Saturday with Corey Carroll and Jeff Martin out to the end of High Mountain Road. Nice little coffee at Five Cities Starbucks BEFORE the ride (I love it!) then a nice pace out and back. No breakaways, but good solid riding together. Some great prayer at the turnaround and then we worked together on the way back, taking turns at the pull. Good times. My odo showed 46.

The second was out to Huasna with Doc Morton. My first time out there. Beautiful gentle ascent with a just a couple steeper climbs. The first time I've felt really good on the bike in a long, long time. The Rabbit was back to his old tricks, but just a bit. Doc was telling stories, pointing out dinos and wild pigs along the way. Pounded together on the way, 25 - 35 most of the way. I had 45, and Doc had 75.

(Doc, by the way, is riding longer and harder than all of us right now. He won't tell you, but I will. He did 75 by himself on Friday morning. The guy is solid and consistent. He will just grind out the miles, with or without the rest of us.)

Thanks for the ride, boys. I can't do tomorrow, because Gib is coming to give the boat a once over, but I'm shooting for Thursday morning, if it works for anyone.

I'm out for Wed...

i have a morning meeting at 630 wed so i'm out for rollin... but let's get something set up for Friday.  I know that is campout day but hey start the day off right with a ride!  Your call Levi.

Martin Family Blog - and B Day Ride

Took me a while to record this. Thought to share with my cycling buddies and friends. Also, I thought it appropriate to come out the closet with our family blog.
