Jens Santa Rita Ride Report
Well One Source was well represented today on my first official ride. The team was fit, fast and in good form. The rollout along Hwy 1 was pleasant with appropirate bantering much of which I couldn't quite make sense of. The rotation of a 2 person paceline does need some work. Think parting of the red sea through the middle. No harm no foul. Santa Rita creek was in glory with only 2 cars the whole ride. Got to hear the Witch actually breath a little hard toward the top and all the gaps were very respectable. The descent was great with high speed into Templeton. Sean set up the key climb perfectly with a short pull just before, unbenownst to him. I thought I might have dropped the Witch at that point but he was stuck to my wheel like glue. Templeton rollers a little broken up by the road work but good efforts there. Normally we would have gone straight at Rocky canyon and 41 but had to detour through Atascadero. The Witch and Levi decided to pick up the pace into Santa Margarita but Jens of course was attentive and did take the imaginary sprint.... no city limit sign at Santa Margarita. The descent of the grade was fast with a tail wind, Jens max speed 51.2 mph. A great ride with a great team. You all are roadie worthy.

Chad so needs to warn the back of the line before he goes sprinting into Santa Margarita.
Also, there's a rumor going around that Chad was only about 70% going up Rita.
My 3 favorite things about this ride:
1. Surviving the downhill grade and finishing.
2. Watching Chad toodling all the way out to Old Creek.
3. Back and fourth with Todd coming into Templeton.
You are too kind David! You actually make it sound like we know what we are doing out there....we know the truth, but we'll get there. Thanks for leading the way. Oh yeah, you forgot to through "Sarg" under the bus for the hold up at the bottom of Rita and the party foul (dropped water bottle). Anyways, great ride and thanks for showing the way. Will you be with us Friday morn?
Where are the pics of the day?
David, thought for sure you would make a bid to change my nickname after today to "domestique" or "whippy". Dont think I could have had much worse timing on my pull attempts. I'll be your huckleberry any time. Pop quiz - what does Domestique literally mean?
Thanks for the reminders Levi. In my home we say LP for matters such as these.
My favorite things about the ride:
1. The quad ram by Hobbit at the turn.
2. My taint and the dropping seat post.
3. Speed hobbles on the grade and Levi whispering he only gets those while climbing.
4. Listening to Jen's rear hub spin when waiting for a faster pull.
5. Observing Rabbit wobble from his cleats to his heels at the regroup.
