the fellowship is cracking. . . me no like solo. . .
and other thoughts

Rode Turri backwards today alone about 7:30 AM, just to keep the rhythm . . . didn't really enjoy it, despite the ipod. . . .

Made me realize I need to crew to go longer and faster.  I'm better with others in cycling . . . and in life.  I know Jens does it, but I don't think I could do more than 25 solo. . .

Summer is crazy.  Lots of coming and going.  I think its time to re-look at our schedules and, if necessary, redesign the ride schedule.

Torque is suggesting 4:00 AM rides for a while, since he needs to be at work until they hire a new foreman.   If that's what it takes, I'm in.  I could probably negotiate evening rides for awhile as well.

So, I am opening this topic for discussion . . . Let's get it fixed and then restarted.

Until we get it settled, I'll just keep fighting for every ride.

I can't go tomorrow.  What's happening Wednesday?  I'd like to go long on Friday, since I'm in Catalina and off the bike all next week.

Hey There,
Yeah, it really is easier to get up and get those rides in when there is others to be accountable to. I have been inspired to do Wed rides again, I can commit to that. I like the early mornings. I have been riding as my schedule allows. It has been hard lately with my parents and their health. As you know I only road ride, and I don't mind going on long solos, but I prefer a group.
I do have a few rides I want to do this summer, like Figueroa Mtn, Hwy 1 South from Carmel, maybe Jalama Beach. I love N. County rides, need to start early in the summer though. The summer schedule is filling up and I have not planned for any of these yet??

There's definitely a different dynamic riding in a group compared with a solo effort! Sometimes I like solo efforts because it leaves me to deal with my thoughts non stimulated from the computer or others -- definitely takes practice to even begin to enjoy or appreciate it. Like Rick, my schedule primarily dictates my ride times so more of my rides are solo than group.
