Top 10 Memories of the Ride in no particular order:
1. 75 miles, 17.6 ave, 4:06 riding time
2. Popping wheelies (not on purpose) on the steepest pitches we have all ever ridden (how steep are they, anyone?)
3. Almost crashing into Lefty as Rabbit decides not to take a pull as we try to get him to Harmony or further by 6:30. A little Rabbit Roast anyone?
4. Riding along the creek was very reminiscent of time spent fishing in Oregon with Levi. Skippy, it was truly "gorgeous."
5. Riding yet another new ride.
6. Not realizing that the top of Old Creek is 1.5 casual miles (slight incline) from the 46 intersection of Santa Rosa Creek / Old Creek. We were all anticipating another serious climb after passing the 46. We barrowed an expression from Switchfoot here, "Beautiful Letdown".
7. Hearing about Rabbit's 56 mile, 19.4, home by 8:10 report. He peeled off after Harmony and bettered his average overall from 18 (first half) to 19.4 overall. So he must have been smokin on his solo journey home. Impressive indeed!
8. "Let's finish this together," says Levi as he spins next to me on the last little climb towards Highland. Thanks for not crushing me Levi as I know you had another flick or two in you.
9. Anyone at Art's reading this....Why don't Cateye wireless computers work with Light in Motion lights. My computer would not register when my light was on from SLO to Cayucos? Anyone have a simple fix that does not include not riding in the dark or buying something new?
10. Deciding that the next time we do that ride, we are doing it in reverse.
11. (bonus) Not getting hit or punched by angry truck driver. He came up on us very fast ...honked for 20 seconds...stopped ahead of us and then yelled at us as we nervously past him.
Have a restful weekend all!

Slept like a baby last night for sure! So...there needs to be a #11..."Almost getting run over by the back country homie who clearly hadn't consumed his morning cup of coffee yet!" Great ride guys...thanks for the grace on the way home!!
What a great ride indeed. Santa Rosa was displaying the Lords Glory, through his creation, in full display. Amazing flowers, wildlife, creek, rolling hills, view once we rolled through the fog bank at the top......and the list goes on.
One thing is for sure....my legs hurt after that ride! Favorite things:
1. The surprise of how steep it got and getting through it.
2. Seeing how bummed Torque was that there wasnt more climbing after he just said 10 minutes before that was the hardest road climb. Guys a freak!
3. Very proud of Todd keeping the petal to the metal and not giving up. The guy is mentally tough....we are in trouble if he starts riding more regularly!
4. The Rabbit having a very hard time holding back during our initial roll out. It never fails to give us a good laugh to start out the ride.
5. The decent on Old Creek...fun!
6. Getting a flat just before Cambria...ok, not really a favorite at all.
Looking forward to the classic Madonna mtb ride on Monday. Post to come later today. Hope to see you all there.
