This will be collective thoughts on my cycling dribble:
Boonen is fittingly on the cover this month in Velo News. Did you get your new addition Chad? There is no mistake there - he Owns the cobbles for many more years. Love to watch the guy race. His team mate Devolder is the real deal as well and between the two, the belgian races will likely be tough for the taking.
How about the Giro - Cavendish takes todays stage. This kid has real talent and amazing speed. He has just the type of abandon and courage for the speed finishes. I believe he will also last with good management and discipline since the little bugger can climb as well as was demonstrated in the ToC.
There is some real possibilities on the Giro and the race is wide open really. Di Luca, Vande Velde, Siutsou, Kloden, Contador, levi, Simoni, and some other dangers within a minute of GC. Who knows at this point but experience says Astana should be able to control based on horse power and Contadors explosive climbing. With them being out of the TdF at this stage, they have the motive for pulling off the win even though they may not have been prepared. Lets see. Too soon to tell but it would be amazing to see High Road rally in the same regard.
A couple of new videos since we are talking about crashes in recent posts. Here's one of the grand daddy's. Abdou was a the real "terror" if you remember him. To top it off, hardly anyone is wearing a helmet and the most protection they had was what we used to call "hairnets" which seem nothing more than a fashion statement. Just check this one out.
Another good movie to consider - The Hard Road. Basically a movie made and produced by domestic pro cyclist and amateur movie producer Jamie Paolinetti where you dive into into the gritty subculture that is American professional bike racing. This penetrating documentary chronicles the first year of a professional cycling team (Net Zero) and their struggle to win races against formidable odds. Issues of loyalty, integrity, commitment and self-knowledge arise and are dealt with differently by the racers (two veterans and six rookie riders). But victory comes at a high cost: the sacrifice of any semblance of a normal life.

By the way, nobody earned their belgian ale award since they failed to indentify the second question of a previous email regarding the Ardennes Forest. History has got to be a strong point for the Rabbit...

yup, crazy crash. Did that guy ride again after the crash?
Djamolidine Abdoujaparov kept riding after this crash to my knowledge but not in this race ofcourse. The terror of Tashkent was an amazing sprinter and was one of three riders to win the points jersey over three grand tours in his day.
