Giro - Astana Taking Control

Trust you all heard the news regarding the injuries of Contador. Based on the results of the recent TT, its clear he is fit and the injury is possibly overstated. Kloden is also firing on all cylinders and Levi is in the top 20 so it's clear Astana is in control. Races can change quick though and the italians on LPR are in reasonable GC with both former Giro winners Salvodelli and Di Luca within range. Il Falco (Salvodelli) and the killer (Di Luca) have been know for some big surprises in the Giro so never say never.

I believe no real seperation of the GC contenders will take place until stage 14-16 with the mountain TT being the real time for time splits. If Astana is simply overplaying or bluffing the Contador injury, he should really open up time gaps with his climbing skills. I hope he hits the gas in the opening high mountain stages and gives ASO a little glimpse of what they may miss in July.

Christian and Levi still inside the top 20! Loving that. Splipstream will have a respectable Tdf showing.
